$451 Million is a massive amount of money and a young man from Florida pocketed just such a jackpot. When asked what he plans to do with the prize money, he revealed that he wants to do “good for humanity” and quit his job immediately.
On 5 January 2018, Shane Missler, a 20-year-old resident of Florida, became an overnight multi-millionaire by playing the right numbers. His wealth now equals that of popstar Taylor Swift after winning the fourth largest Mega Millions jackpot ever. He announced his huge lotto win by posting a Facebook status just half an hour after the drawing that read, “Oh. My. God.”
After confirming his win, he immediately quit his job at a background screening company and determined to do something good for humanity. Although he is just 20, he hopes to use the prize money to pursue a variety of passions, help his family and do some good for humanity. After winning such an astronomical amount, it is good to do some charity.
Shane purchased his winning ticket from a 7-Eleven convenience store in Port Richey. He said that he played because he had “a feeling” he might win. He credits the power of positive thinking for the lotto outcome. He said, “If there is one thing I have learned thus far in my short time on Earth is that those who maintain a positive mindset and stay true themselves get rewarded.” It is safe to say that regardless of his young age, he is wise and has a clear view of how he wants to spend his money.
